Bee World, the hex honeycomb

This is a playable preview, not a finished game. It is here so you can try it and tell me what breaks before it properly exists.

Bee World is the second game in the CluePost universe. Once the postman finishes the ten worlds he crosses into a dimension where he is a bee and the board is a honeycomb, so the usual logic moves onto hexagons. Each cell has six neighbours instead of four, and that changes completely what an adjacency clue means.

There is also a mechanic that does not exist in the grid puzzles: the bee path. On top of working out which element goes in each cell, you have to reconstruct where the bee enters the honeycomb, how it travels through it and where it leaves. There is a single rule with no exceptions: every cell has exactly two of its six sides as path, counting the ones on the outer edge.

About what you are looking at

The icons are The Farm’s, borrowed from the grid game. Bee World will have its own, but drawing them takes time and I did not want to wait for that to be able to test the mechanic. Same with the stamps in the top bar: they are decorative, there is no economy yet.

There are 30 puzzles, ten per size, and every one is verified: they can be solved by reasoning, without guessing at any point. The dropdowns at the top are for testing and will not be in the final version, where the level comes from your progress.

How to play

The candidates

Each cell shows the elements that could still be there. A click rules one out or restores it; a long press confirms it. On confirming, that element disappears from the rest of its row.

The edges

Every side between two cells can be marked. A click sets or clears it as a wall, in blue; a long press marks it as path, in gold. Since every cell needs exactly two path sides, marking one makes the board complete everything that is already forced.

The clues

A click marks a card as used, which dims it. Dragging them reorders them. And if you press and hold one, it explains exactly what it means.

Where it stands

The full board works, the path with its cascade, the six kinds of clue, saving your game, and a helper that gives you the next possible deduction without revealing the solution. Missing: its own art, level progression, a tutorial and sound. If you find something odd, write to me.
